Tips to Reduce the Cost of Repairing or Replacing Roofs

The roof is one of the single most expensive fixes on any commercial real estate building. The average flat commercial roof lasts approximately 15 – 20 years. The cost of replacing a roof at the end of its life is a big concern for owners. There is a method that can cut the cost down to roughly half of what traditional re-roofing costs - Cool Roofing.

  1. Per the California Energy Commission "Cool roofs are highly reflective & use highly emissive (meaning heat emitting) roofing materials that stay 50-60 degrees F cooler than a normal roof under a hot summer sun.", thus dramatically cutting HVAC cost.
  2. Cool Roofing cuts the cost of maintenance and increases the life expectancy of the roof, as it severely reduces weather damage of the roof. Most of the maintenance costs on roofs is due to rain or extreme temperatures.
  3. The cost of making the needed repairs and then applying the cool roof, depending on the type and methods used, can be as little as half the cost of a new roof.
